More than 100 people joined China Spirit UK at New Brighton Lighthouse on Saturday, 8 August, for a special pop-up Tai Chi session celebrating the 9th World Kung Fu Day.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the lighthouse and the River Mersey, the event brought together people of all ages and abilities. Some were already familiar with Tai Chi, while many experienced it for the very first time. Everyone was invited to follow the gentle movements, enjoy the fresh sea air and discover some of the many physical and mental wellbeing benefits Tai Chi can offer.

The atmosphere was friendly, relaxed and full of positive energy. It was wonderful to see families, friends, members of our local community and visitors all moving together and sharing the spirit of Tai Chi.

World Kung Fu Day is celebrated internationally to promote traditional Chinese martial arts and their cultural heritage. For China Spirit UK, it was also a lovely opportunity to bring people together, encourage movement and share what we enjoy with the wider community.
