1. About Us

China Spirit UK CIC is a not-for-profit community organisation that provides martial arts, Tai Chi, Qigong, yoga, Chinese cultural activities, and community wellbeing programmes.

Our aim is to provide a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for people of all ages and abilities.

By using our website, registering for membership or booking our activities, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Membership and Registration

Participants attending regular classes may be required to register as members of China Spirit UK.

Membership fees, class prices and payment options are displayed on our website or provided during registration.

Members are responsible for ensuring their contact details and relevant medical information remain accurate and up to date.

Parents or guardians are responsible for registering children under 18 and providing appropriate consent.

3. Class Bookings and Attendance

Some classes and activities require advance booking due to limited availability.

Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed once registration and any required payment are complete.

We kindly ask participants to arrive on time and follow our instructors' instructions.

China Spirit UK reserves the right to make reasonable changes to class schedules, instructors or activities when necessary.

We will aim to provide advance notice of any significant changes or cancellations.

4. Payments and Direct Debits

Members must pay membership and class fees according to the payment plan selected during registration.

Where Direct Debit payments are arranged, members authorise us to collect the agreed payments from their nominated bank account.

Members must notify us of changes to their payment details.

You may cancel Direct Debits through your bank at any time. However, cancelling a Direct Debit does not automatically terminate an existing membership agreement or remove any outstanding payment obligations.

You must settle any outstanding fees in accordance with the agreed membership terms.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

Members wishing to cancel their membership or regular payments should notify us by email at support@chinaspirit.org.uk.

We will clearly communicate any applicable notice period or minimum membership commitment when you join.

Refunds for individual classes, workshops and events will depend on the booking conditions and circumstances of cancellation.

Where China Spirit UK cancels a paid activity and cannot provide an acceptable alternative, participants will be offered an appropriate refund.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights, including applicable cancellation rights for online purchases.

6. Health and Safety

Participants are responsible for informing instructors of any medical conditions, injuries or other circumstances that may affect their ability to participate safely.

Martial arts and physical activities involve some inherent risks. Participants should follow instructions, train within their abilities and avoid activities that cause pain or discomfort.

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Outdoor shoes are not permitted on the carpeted training area.

China Spirit UK takes reasonable steps to provide a safe training environment and maintains appropriate health and safety procedures.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits our liability where doing so would be unlawful.

7. Children's Activities

Children must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring children arrive and are collected promptly at the agreed times.

All participants must follow our Safeguarding Policy and our instructors' instructions.

China Spirit UK reserves the right to address behaviour that places participants, staff or visitors at risk.

8. Behaviour and Respect

We aim to create a friendly, inclusive and respectful community.

All members and visitors are expected to treat instructors, staff and fellow participants with courtesy and respect.

Bullying, discrimination, harassment, aggressive behaviour or deliberate misuse of equipment will not be tolerated.

Serious or repeated breaches of our rules may result in suspension or termination of participation, following appropriate consideration of the circumstances.

9. Free and Funded Activities

Some of our activities are supported by external funding and may be offered free of charge or at a reduced cost.

Places may be limited and subject to eligibility, registration and availability.

We reserve the right to amend or discontinue funded activities when funding ends or circumstances change.

We will aim to communicate any changes to participants as early as reasonably possible.

10. Photography and Media

Photographs and videos may be taken during classes, competitions, performances and community events.

We will handle images used for promotional purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable consent requirements.

Please inform us if you do not wish to appear in promotional photographs or videos.

11. Website Information

We aim to ensure that information on our website is accurate and up to date.

However, class schedules, prices, availability and event information may occasionally change.

We reserve the right to update website content and correct errors when necessary.

You may not reproduce or use China Spirit UK website content, photographs, logos, or promotional materials for commercial purposes without permission.

12. Privacy and Personal Information

We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions to reflect changes in our organisation, services or legal requirements.
